We are thrilled to pass along an amazing training from one of our favorite non-profit organizations, Kula for Karma.
For over 15 years, Kula for Karma has offered yoga and meditation to those who are faced with mental health, trauma and addiction challenges. Their classes are offered in treatment facilities, schools, detention centers, and hospitals.
Since 2013, they have impacted over 71,000 lives through access to yoga and meditation. Kula for Karma's training is informed by practical hands-on experience serving these populations and the latest insights from yogic philosophy, somatic experiencing, and addiction science. The training will be held virtually via Zoom on October 15 and 16. Participants will have access to a variety of resources:
>Digital training manual
>An online forum
>Interactive zoom training including break-out rooms and discussions
>Scripts + sequences
>Articles, videos, and links to relevant online content
>Opportunity to virtually observe a Kula for Karma trauma-conscious class
Trainees will receive a certificate of completion and walk away with: a deeper awareness of the effects of trauma and addiction on mental health, tools to customize traditional yoga and meditation practices with these challenges in mind, and practical suggestions for how to work with triggers in real-life scenarios. Yoga teachers are eligible for 19 Yoga Alliance CE hours.
