july is here, which means it's more than halfway through 2021 - now is the time to try something new.
restore. flow. grow.
Our signature Tangerine Flow is here to challenge you, guide you into alignment, and encourage you. Each of our teachers brings a special, unique flavor to every class.
But this month, we want to spotlight our restorative classes as a way to challenge you to broaden your practice.
Restorative yoga is the practice of releasing and letting go. The practice of the art of relaxation. The practice of self-soothing - and for many of us busy New Yorkers, it can be just as big of a challenge as a handstand. Restorative yoga can do wonders for your nervous system, which in turn can help your immune system function optimally.
Interested? We offer several varieties of restorative classes to help you destress, relax, and dive ever so slightly further into your practice.
On Thursdays at 8:15pm with Elizabeth, we offer restore + sound.
In this hour and fifteen minute class, Elizabeth guides you in gentle movement and breathing exercises to help you settle down. This class is great for interoception (sensing the body's internal state) and relaxation and includes a Sound Meditation with Tibetan Singing Bowls and other instruments, offering you a vibrational experience.
On Fridays at 6:45pm, Jeanette guides you through flow + yin.
A 75 minute non-heated part vinyasa, part yin class where you hold seated shapes for 3 minutes or more to lengthen deep layers of connective tissue and fascia throughout the body. You will get energy moving through the joints and bones of the body as well as improve flexibility.
Check out these two great classes to find your zen and challenge yourself to take the stillness your body sometimes craves.
