Robbin has been teaching yoga in New York City for nearly a decade. She has studied with a variety of movers and bodyworkers, including chiropractors, acrobats and massage therapists, and incorporates techniques from a variety of mediums into how she teaches. Her vinyasa classes are heavily influenced by circus technique and have a strong focus on developing active flexibility. Her yin classes blend classical yin with modern myofascial release techniques and reiki. As a group fitness professional, her favorite thing to do is lead continuing education modules for fellow yoga and pilates instructors. When not working, she enjoys dabbling in circus arts, and spoiling her cats, Jack and Molly.
As a mentor, Robbin seeks to strengthen her mentee's confidence in their sequence abilities and ultimately, in their larger role as a leader in the yoga community.
"The mentorship at Tangerine has transformed my experience and outlook as a yoga teacher. With Robbin as my mentor, I gained a newfound confidence in my ability to teach by focusing in on the areas that I needed guidance in. My time as a mentee has changed my outlook towards practicing and teaching, and I will forever be grateful." - Sara

taila skincare
Meet Taila, one of our in-studio products that we love. Taila skincare solutions are Ayurvedic (the sister-science to yoga!) with 100% natural ingredients. Founder Shadoh grew up in NYC with parents from India and her father, a botanist, fostered her love of the medicinal science of Ayurveda.
For the gratitude challenge, Taila has donated mini toners ($25 value) for this upcoming week's winners!
Plus you can check out their skincare the next time you are in-studio!

practice a month of gratitude with us
To show how incredibly grateful we are for our community, we will be holding our 2nd annual gratitude challenge!
Starting on Monday, October 28th, every time you take class you'll get one entry into our gratitude draw to win some super cool prizes!
These prizes include services from Recoverie, Spencer's Spa, items from our favorite skincare brand Taila, and even Tangerine gift cards. The grand prize is a 3 month unlimited membership with Tangerine!
Here's how it works:
1. Take class!
2. Fill out a gratitude card before or after class by writing down something you're grateful for - that counts as one entry.
3. Every week, we'll do a drawing of the entries from that week! Weekly prizes include tangerine gift cards plus items and services from local businesses.
4. On November 25th, we'll do a drawing from ALL the cards to select our grand prize winner and award them 3 months of unlimited membership with Tangerine!
*Note: only 1 entry per day permitted. Current unlimited members are eligible for the grand prize too!*
The challenge starts October 28th and goes until November 25th - so make sure to take class and spread the gratitude! 🍊
why are we doing the gratitude challenge?
Mindfulness philosophy and positive psychology encourage intentionally cultivating positive emotions like gratitude. Whenever we practice a positive emotion, like gratitude, we're getting our brain to go down that neural pathway, which makes it easier for the brain to take that path without our conscious effort.
When practicing gratitude, like in our challenge, please don't feel like you need to have something big in order to participate! Practicing gratitude for smaller things, like a good coffee or a cute dog you saw at the studio, counts just as much!

in the spirit of gratitude 🙏
In the spirit of gratitude, we have asked all of our teachers to highlight one of their favorite organizations to share with our community. If you feel called, please donate or support!
This week, Hannah would like to highlight the SAGE. Read on to hear more about her chosen organization:
"As a member of the queer community, I owe my right to live and love loudly to my LGBTQIA+ elders who fought for queer liberation. I owe so much to their sacrifice and valor in the face of oppression. To express my gratitude to them, I donate to SAGE, a national advocacy & services organization dedicated to making aging better for queer people."
If you feel inspired to do so, please consider supporting SAGE.
